7 Days To Die (Base Building)

Between development and deployment of my friends website I've been playing a lot of 7 Days To Die. So much so that I thought it'd be worth sharing a few screenshots of my upcoming Day 14 defence base.

1. Hatch to the 3rd layer of the building. Ideal for hiding in the event of horde intrusion.

2. View of the 3rd layer from the descent down the ladder.

3. View of the 3rd layer. It's intended to be a 'hub world' of sorts to connect all of the various rooms together. The rooms will be built during the day and be vacated during the night until fully re-enforced with Steel. Furthermore in the event of a Zombie breach this room will be ideal for waiting out the horde to once again emerge at sunrise.

4. View of the 2nd layer. The battery on the floor has no backup and therefore will need to have it's cells swapped out from the ones in this battery case. To the right is the electrocution room.

5. Internal view of the electrocution room. Once the zombies have broken the steel spike traps
(1000 hp each) they will need to destroy the steel walls (12,000 hp each) all the while having to withstand being electrocuted. The steel traps can be repaired from underneath thus deterring future hordes.

6. Switches to control the lighting and traps

7. Door To Outside

8. Door to the first layer

9. 1st layer of the building. The steel beams prevent the zombies from flooding this area all the while holding the steel blocks necessary to hold additional electrocution poles and lighting. A relay can be found on each corner of this room (one of which leads to the external battery).

10. Peeking from the main hatch, shotgun at the ready

14. Power Source. Three array's of 6 individual solar panels power 3 battery banks with 6 car batteries. Overall this provides approximately 250w of power per battery bank. The solar cells charge the appliances and backup batteries during the day, the battery backups are responsible for powering the base overnight.

Hope you enjoyed this article. Any feedback or suggested improvements regarding the base would be appreciated.
